This week the girls and I were grateful that we didn't have anywhere we absolutely had to be. The girls have taken this opportunity to create a few make-believe games. I love the restaurant game they've created. They take turns being waitress and the other is the customer. Their food is quite expensive, but good - chocolate covered bananas (home-made with whipped cream on top), soft pretzels, ham and cheese croisants just to name a few menu choices. They have a small table with two seats ( a foot stool and an overturned metal bucket). On the table is a lovely purple pansey and the usual restaurant condiments. Madison still enjoys having a "store". Today's store is balloon sales. She has blown up numerous balloons and will draw or write on them. Previous "stores" have been mostly candy shops. She is just itching to open a Snack Shack where Jordan and I will purchase our in-between-meal snacks. The only thing holding us back is exactly what will be on the Snack Shack menu . . . oh and, of course, the pricing.
Last week they held a puppet show complete with a well thought out script and props. Actually, two puppet shows. One was titled "Pirates at Sea" and the other was "The Lion, the Monkey, and the Hippo" (the title is a take off on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe - the play was not). I am continually amazed at their creativity.
